SPECTRUM top Denver software developer

Denver, Colorado — March 20, 2006 — The Denver Business Journal named Spectrum Human Resource Systems Corporation to the number seven position for Denver-Area Software Developers in its March 10-16, 2006 issue. Jim Spoor, President and CEO of Spectrum, stated, "As a long-term Colorado headquartered employer with a nationwide presence, this positioning amongst Colorado software providers and our similarly high ranking nationally within our industry reflects the fact that Spectrum provides strategic value as we serve the needs of a national and global market."

In almost every organization, public and private, the costs associated with recruiting, training and developing, compensating and providing benefits, and all of the other employee related costs of the organization are almost always the largest single cost of doing business. At the same time, the experience, knowledge, and talent of employees are usually the highest value asset of the organization. The value asset of Spectrum employees is that more than 25 percent of our staff has work experience in the human resources profession. Additionally, more than 40 percent of our staff has worked at Spectrum more than 5 years, and 20 percent more than 10 years.

Spectrum also takes great pride in promoting internal talent. Many of our staff started their careers at Spectrum supporting clients in the Product Support division, and have moved on to the Development, Sales or Client Services divisions.

Other differentiators that have allowed Spectrum to serve 2,100 clients nationwide and abroad include obtaining the Microsoft® Gold Certified Partner and Certified for SQL 2000 designations. This helps ensure our web-based system is designed with best practice methodologies, runs with stability on the Windows platform, and meets security requirements for SQL Server 2000. The company’s web-based employee self-service module, iVantage Connect, earned the Microsoft .NET Connected status. Many industry publications, such as Workforce Management, have also named Spectrum to its top list of HRMS providers throughout the years.

The entire organization is committed to sharing expertise. Team members from Spectrum speak at industry conferences across the nation and many also participate in local industry events. Additionally, Jim Spoor recently earned the Summit Award issued by The International Association for Human Resource Information Management (IHRIM), which recognizes IHRIM members who have made significant, long-term contributions to the advancement of the association’s mission and goals and have facilitated the exchange of ideas, solutions and knowledge sharing related to the effective use of technology in the human resource function.

"With the changes that are now occurring in the demographics of the American workforce, along with the long-predicted shortage of experienced, talented, and knowledgeable people that is now emerging, Spectrum’s proven ability to provide our clients with both the software and the services to assist in efforts to maintain and manage human resources is key to our past and future growth," Spoor said.

Spoor founded Spectrum Human Resource Systems Corporation in 1984 in Denver, Colorado.

“RU free 2 meet Fri? B/C if UR not, Mon is OK w/me.” Most people in the workplace today probably wouldn’t send an e–mail spelled that way. However, for a good portion of the younger people just starting their careers, it might be perfectly normal. It’s how they’ve grown up doing it.
