Spectrum reaches into heart of Virginia with sale to Ukrop’s Super Markets

Spectrum Human Resource Systems Corporation recently expanded its client base in the Southeast with an agreement to provide its best–in–class integrated human resource system, iVantage^®, to Ukrop’s Super Markets, Inc. of Richmond, Virginia.

The agreement marks a collaboration between two companies that hold superior customer service as a main tenet of their visions. Ukrop’s was founded on the principle of treating customers as they wish to be treated, while Spectrum was built on the notion of creating client enthusiasm for its products.

“Our two companies have similar philosophies, both with superior customer service in mind,” said Spectrum President and CEO Sybll Romley. “Spectrum calls clients regularly just to touch base with them; Ukrop’s provides world–class shopping experiences and then bags and takes groceries out to customers’ cars. Ukrop’s, with over 5,600 employees in 28 retail locations, is headquartered in Richmond with stores branching out over central Virginia. In addition to the grocery stores, Ukrop’s has majority ownership of 35 First Market Bank branches, 25 of which are located within Ukrop’s locations. The company will use iVantage, a web–based HRIS that combines all HR functionality into one system, to automate its HR processes.
